Sir,

While I'm not a professional in either the computer or astronomy fields (I'm a casual stargazer). I'll give you what feedback I can. I'm using a Cassiopeia E-125 (MIPS) and my initial impression is overwhelmingly positive. I have not been able to detect any memory leaks while running the program and the 'transition' when the program adjusts to the changing sky is a lot smoother than in version 1.x. Featurewise, I am pleased also. The new Caldwell objects, grids, and orbital paths add a lot to an already feature-rich program (and with the more refined viewing options the clutter can be made very minimal). The function that allows you to view the sky forwards and backwards in time deserves praise too. The only flaw I've yet found is a small typographical error in the Messier information on M45 on the identity line.

A few requests for future versions:
1. seperation of Messier/Caldwell sky objects
2. the addition of images for Caldwell objects to compliment Messier.
3. the ability to reverse the west-east orientation. I know this is done on purpose, yet I still have a little trouble getting used to it.

For what it is worth, you have my congratulations on what I feel is truly a SUPERB program! (And please continue to support the old MIPS platform).

Bravo!

CComer
