Posted - 11/26/2006 : 09:29:36 When switching from 2D -Star Chart to 3D - Orrery everything is o.k. unless you move the FOV slider to another viewing angle. After this the 2D -Star Chart comes up as a background which is rather confusing. Is there any solution?

Posted - 11/26/2006 : 15:46:18 Hi Kurt,
This behavior is "by design". The stars in the background accurately reflect what you would see from the vantage point in space.
If they're bothersome or overwhelming, you can:
1. Turn off constellations and all other overlays. 2. Set star magnitudes to manual (disable Menu.Settings.SmartZoom) and set the magnitude setting to 2.
Note that Pocket Stars remembers different settings for the View dialog for the 2D vs. 3D modes. So you can have constellations visible in 2D and not 3D for instance.
