Posted - 11/10/2006 : 10:03:08 When I enter my registration code, it get the message "Invalid Registration Code Entered"
DETAILS: 1 - I had an old Pocketstars version demo. 2- Old Demo had expired over a year ago. 3 - Purchased new version from Handango.com. (When making the purchase, I do not recall being asked to enter my "Registered User" name on the Handango.com site.) 3- Downloaded and installed new version on top of old version. 4 - When I go to HELP.ABOUT I get a message "Version 5.1.5; Demo period has expired." 5 - WHen I enter my new registration code, get messge: "Invalid Registration Code" (Have tried several times) 6 - What am I missing. The FAQ on the support page doesn't seem to address this. The error msg on my PDA indicates to enter capitalization and punctuation correctly, but the registration key is just a 5-digit number. The error msg also indicates "if you purchase online, you will need to the the Registered User name shown above". I don't believe I gave Handango my registered user name, unless it was the username I have used to signup with Handango.
I have also tried removing the new version and re-installing, with the same results.
The support page at http://nomadelectr.web124.discountasp.net/RegCode/RegistrationCodeRetrieval.aspx doesn't seem to address the problem. Thanks Kirk

Posted - 11/19/2006 : 12:56:09 An answer to Dale's problem:
Dale had an older version of PocketStars and upgraded for free to Version 5 which uses a different registration scheme. This upgrade scenario is automatically supported, and everything "just worked".
But then he installed Version 5 on a different Pocket PC and tried to still use his pre-Version 5 code. This doesn't work, and he just needs to generate a new Registration Code (free) at this link:

Posted - 11/19/2006 : 00:54:36 I have a similar "invalid registration code entered problem". But I have the correct code and it still won't recognize it. I just got a brand new spankin' Cingular 8525 (not the older 8125) PocketPC. I had a Sprint 6700 previously and using the same version of Pocket Stars 5.1.5, the same registered user name and the same code that worked on the 6700, the 8125 will not accept the code. Just for giggles, I went to your code verification page to check to make sure the code didn't change and it didn't. My PocketGear code info also matches from when I forst bought it. But the same exact registration info that worked on the Sprint 6700 will not work on the Cingular 8525. I also sent this question to "official" support. Thoughts?

Visiting:
http://nomadelectr.web124.discountasp.net/RegCode/RegistrationCodeRetrieval.aspx
is exactly what you want to do to fix any type of Registration Code problem. This will get you an updated Registration Code immediately, without the hassles of working through Handango.
If you can't find your existing purchase on that page then either:
a. The email address you entered doesn't match the email address used when purchasing. In this case, search by "Order Number". b. The data base hasn't been updated since your purchase (see the first page for the time and date of last update, which I do every few days). c. The distributor failed to send me your purchase order. Nothing I can do here, and you need to contact the distributor directly. There was a period of months in 2005 when Handango failed to forward some unknown percentage of purchase records. d. There's some other random problem.
Cases (a) and (b) above cover most problems.

Posted - 11/14/2006 : 22:19:27 Sorry to reply to my own post. Handango.com had me send them my owner's name and they sent me a new registration code (which worked). (I don't recall Handango asking me for a PC owner's name when I bought it--I'm not sure how they generated it.)
Problem solved. Sorry to clutter the forum.
