Posted - 02/12/2006 : 08:13:45 I have Starry Night beginneron my PC, and Pocket Stars V5.1.2 on my pda. I notice that the distances given in Pocket Stars to various stars appear to by out by a factor of approx. 10. For example: Regulus - 77.5 ly (Starry Night) , 6.81 ly (Pocket Stars) Betelgeuse 429 ly (S.N.) , 61.3 (P.S.) Procyon 11.4 ly (S.N.), 1.605 (P.S.) Pollux 33.76 ly (S.N.), 3.26 (P.S) Am I missing something? Or is the Pocket Stars database in need of a correction?

Posted - 02/14/2006 : 12:13:22 Yes, sorry! I made a stupid mistake converting the parallax to light years. It should be: : LY = 3.62 / parallax in ArcSec.
This will get fixed in the next release.
